Chinese New Year

          

            Chinese New Year (the year of the monkey)

 

Chinese New Year is a celebration celebrated at the turn the traditional lunisolar traditional calendar. However, nowadays we use the Gregorian calendar which is based on the sun while the Chinese used the calendar based on the moon. It is also known as the spring festival.

 

How I Spent My Chinese New Year

 Every Chinese new year, my family would gather and have snacks, lunch and dinner the day and the day before Chinese New Year. This year, on the night before Chinese New Year, my family from my father’s side ate in my house. Relatives, uncles, aunties, cousins came leaving a good atmosphere in the house.

 In the morning on the day of Chinese New Year, I helped my mom cook some food for lunch. We prepared lots of food to eat. One by one, family members starts arriving. We exchanged greetings to those who just arrived and then chatted before lunch. We were all so full after eating lunch. As we were chatting again after lunch, it rained quite heavily. Family members waited until the rain stopped before going home.

 

At night we, my mom, dad sister and I went to eat in Jing Paradise (a Chinese restaurant) together with my family from my mom’s side. we enjoyed ourselves there
